How to make YouTube Shorts, Reels and TikToks from a topic, using your own Claude plan

EmbedEasy ·

A plain guide to turning a topic into a finished 1080 by 1920 vertical video: research, script, design and subtitles, made on your Mac with Claude.

Short vertical video is the format almost every channel now needs: YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok all want a 9:16 clip. The slow part is rarely the editing. It is the research, the script and the design. This guide explains how to go from a topic to a finished vertical reel, and how Scrollberg does that on your Mac using your own Claude plan.

What a vertical reel actually needs

How Scrollberg works

Scrollberg is a Mac app. You run the Mac installer, and on first launch it checks your Mac and installs the tools it needs. You then sign in with your Claude plan (Pro or Max). Scrollberg works through Claude Code, so there are no API keys to manage.

You give it a topic. A small crew works on the reel at the same time: a Producer, a Researcher, a Writer and a Graphic Designer. The Researcher checks claims against sources and credits the footage and stills it uses. The Writer drafts the script. The Graphic Designer designs the look.

It asks when it matters

While the crew keeps working, question cards let you choose the hook, the footage or the look. You stay in control of the creative choices without having to run every step.

What you get

A ready-to-post MP4 at 1080 by 1920 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, with subtitles and a thumbnail.

Private by design

Scrollberg runs on your Mac and on your own Claude plan. Your files stay on your Mac, and nothing is uploaded to a Scrollberg server.

Steps, start to finish

  1. Run the Mac installer.
  2. Let it set itself up on first launch.
  3. Connect your Claude plan.
  4. Name your channel and pick a look from 70 looks, or let the Style Creator find yours.
  5. Give it a topic and answer the question cards. Then download the MP4.
